KINGMAN, AZ (KSNV) — Mohave County sheriff’s deputies shot and killed a suspect Saturday after responding to a report of an erratic driver who damaged a gas pump at a business east of Kingman.
Deputies were called at about 12:38 p.m. to a business in the 6000 block of Minerva Lane. After arriving, deputies made contact with the suspect, authorities said.
When the suspect was advised he was under arrest, he produced a weapon, leading to an officer-involved shooting.
The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. No law enforcement personnel were injured.
A records check later showed the suspect had an active arrest warrant out of New Mexico.
The Kingman Police Department is investigating the shooting, which authorities said is standard procedure.
The deputy involved has been placed on paid administrative leave.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities said follow-up questions should be directed to the Kingman Police Department.
