HONOLULU — University of Hawai’i men’s and women’s swimming and diving head coach Steve Allnutt announced the addition of Ashley Dyer to the program as an assistant coach.
Dyer joins the UH coaching staff with an extensive résumé at both the club and collegiate levels.
“Our program is honored to bring Coach Ashley Dyer to the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex,” Allnutt said. “She will assist our team while pursuing her graduate studies in Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Sciences at UH-Manoa. Though Ashley just finished her competitive career last season, she has already put together varied and extensive coaching experience at the club and college level, in addition to working across the country at various elite swim camps. Her initiative and drive for excellence will make an immediate impact on our student-athletes.”
A four-year letterwinner at the University of Mary Washington, Dyer served as a team captain from 2023-25 and won the 2022 Metropolitan Conference Championship in the 1650 freestyle. She also earned runner-up finishes in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle events and was named the high-point swimmer at that year’s conference championships.
Dyer graduated from Mary Washington in May 2024 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a minor in Sports Management, and recently completed her Master’s in Business Administration.
Since 2021, she has served as an assistant coach for the Stingrays USA Swim Team and helped guide the team to a USA Swimming Bronze Medal in 2024. She also interned with Mary Washington’s varsity swim team and has most recently worked with NCAA Division I summer youth camps at the University of Virginia, Texas A&M and the University of Texas.
Dyer was promoted to head coach of her former summer league team, the Woodlake Hurricanes, in 2022 after three summers as assistant coach. She swam for the Hurricanes from 2011-21 and competed at Clover Hill High School from 2017-21.
