SALEM, Va. –  No. 1 seed Tampa to play No. 4 UIndy in NCAA Semifinal with a spot in the National Championship game on the line.

The Matchup: No. 1 University of Tampa (19-1, 6-1 SSC) vs. No. 4 UIndy (15-6, 6-1 GLVC)

Date/Time: Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 4:30 p.m.

Location: Kerr Stadium. 301 N Market St, Salem, VA 24153

Series History: Tampa and Indianapolis have only squared off five times in the program’s history. Tampa leads the all-time series with an overall record of 3-2 and has won the last two contests. The Spartans are 0-2 versus the Greyhounds in neutral-site contests. The two faced off earlier this season when Tampa welcomed UIndy to Namoili Family Athletic and Intramural Complex. The host, Tampa, bested the visitors by a score of 16-11 to pick up its second consecutive win over Indianapolis.

About the Spartans: Tampa advances to its second consecutive NCAA Final Four after defeating Florida Southern at home for the third time this season. UIndy and Tampa played earlier this season, with Tampa coming out on top. Mary Kate Person continues to be on a tear, tallying four goals, which was a game-high in the quarterfinal matchup. The Spartans’ leading goal scorer and points leader, Peyton Howell, enters this matchup with 85 goals and 107 points. The Spartans’ defense continues to be dominant, having allowed just 17 goals in two games, which is good for a 8.5 goals per game. Lexi Waters has caused eight turnovers since the start of the NCAA playoffs, recording four in both games played. UTampa will look to win its second straight NCAA Semifinal and advance to the program’s second Championship.

About the Greyhounds: The Greyhounds upended host Maryville by a score of 15-11 in Saturday’s Midwest Region title game, winning their first regional title since 2022. Sophomore netminder Ava Graham made 13 saves between the pipes, while three Hounds – Kendall Conrad, Sage Da Silva, and Emily Ghazal – tallied a game-high four points. Olivia Bladon joined Conrad and Ghazal with hat tricks, each of them capping it in the second half. Saturday marked the fourth regional championship game in which UIndy played and the first since 2023. The Greyhounds, who won the 2022 NCAA DII national title, have made three consecutive appearances in the regional final from 2021-23.

Bladon leads the team in goals (82) and points (99) as she has started all 21 games UIndy has played this season. Coming into the match versus the Spartans, the Greyhounds hold a 15-6 overall record, with one of the losses coming earlier this season to Tampa. After reseeding, the Greyhounds were selected as the fourth seed.
