The series will take place Oct. 24-26

FORT WORTH – The Big 12 Conference’s ongoing Homecoming series will come to Fort Worth, Thursday through Saturday, prior to TCU’s football game with Texas Tech, centering around entertainment, campus engagement and community service.

The festivities begin on Thursday with the Big 12 and the CFP Foundation’s Extra Yard for Teachers program partnering up for an exciting celebration of school spirit and community engagement at The Leadership Academy at Como Elementary School. The event will bring together students, teachers, Horned Frogs and Big 12 partners for a memorable day with surprises and fun.

“We are very proud to host Big 12 Homecoming and especially with the impact it will have on Fort Worth,” said Jeremiah Donati, J.D., TCU director of intercollegiate athletics. “Como Elementary is an important part of our community and the Fort Worth ISD, educating and serving our local youth for 70 years. We are excited to support Como Elementary and have a strong TCU presence on its campus.”

The Allstate Be You Women’s Empowerment Tour will take place on Friday, 1-4 p.m., at TCU in the BLUU Ballroom on Stadium Drive. The series focuses on providing college students with an interactive experience including engaging panels, activations, entertainment, giveaways and more. The women in power panel includes CBS News anchor Nicole Baker, VP of Marketing, Creative and Digital at James Avery Artisan Jewelry Jessica Coogan, co-founder of The Order Project Lauren Hill, President of the JPS Foundation Leah King and president and CEO of the Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Anette Landeros.

SI Swimsuit will be on the panel as well focusing on well-being and mental health advocacy for young women. Included from SI Swimsuit will be Jasmine Sanders, Camille Kostek, Katie Austin, Ellie Thumann and Christen Goff.

The panels will also include high-profile WWE and NXT stars. Moderated by TCU women’s basketball’s Knisha Godfrey, those on the panel include Tyra Mae Steele, Kendal Grey and Sonya Deville. The BLUU Ballroom will also house the SI Swimsuit x Tarte Glam & Beauty Bar.

The homecoming festivities will culminate on Saturday with the Big 12 Tailgate sponsored by SeatGeek before kickoff with headliner DJ PRESS PLAY. The pregame celebration will be set up along the east side of Amon G. Carter Stadium and will include music, giveaways and more.

In its second year, Big 12 Homecoming has hit the campuses at Arizona State, Colorado and Utah this season.

“Building on the success of last year’s Big 12 Homecoming, we’re excited to extend the tradition to even more campuses and communities,” said Jenn Hunter, Big 12 Chief Impact Officer. “We’re thrilled to engage with TCU and Fort Worth ISD to make an impact locally.”
