The restaurant’s locations in Denver and Longmont closed this week, leaving none left in the state.

DENVER — Several TGI Fridays locations abruptly closed across the U.S. on Tuesday, including two on the Front Range, leaving Colorado with no locations of the restaurant.

TGI Fridays confirmed Wednesday that it was closing 36 “underperforming locations” as “part of the brand’s ongoing growth strategy.” The company also announced it was selling eight previously corporate-owned restaurants in the northeast to its former CEO Ray Blanchette.

Two Front Range locations that show “permanently closed” on Google and no longer appear on the company’s website are:

  • 8104 Northfield Blvd., Denver
  • 125 Ken Pratt Blvd., Longmont

As of Wednesday, the TGI Fridays website showed no locations in Colorado at all.

TGI Fridays locations also closed in Massachusetts, New Jersey, Texas, New York, Florida, Virginia, Maryland and Connecticut. The restaurant chain has not released a full list of the 36 locations that closed.

The company said it offered more than 1,000 transfer opportunities as part of the store closures, representing more than 80% of impacted employees.

According to the company’s website, there are more than 850 TGI Fridays restaurants in more than 55 countries. The TGI Fridays website shows 237 locations in the United States.
