For many years, Cerveceros Night has been popular with Milwaukee Brewers fans. However, this year, the team is going beyond the specialty jerseys for their celebration of Hispanic culture.
The Milwaukee Brewers will host DJ group HAG Music for a series of community events this week, building toward the team’s annual Noche de Cerveceros celebration Friday at American Family Field.
HAG Music, short for Humble and Gentle, blends Latin rhythms with high-energy DJ performances. The group will partner with the Brewers beginning Wednesday, extending Noche de Cerveceros’ celebration of Latino culture beyond the ballpark through music, movement and community engagement.
“The collaboration reflects the Brewers’ ongoing commitment to creating inclusive experiences that celebrate the diverse identities of Milwaukee,” the team said in announcing the partnership.
The week’s schedule:
Wednesday, July 15: 5K Run with Live Music
The event begins at Zocalo Food Truck Park in partnership with Buena Tierra Run Club, an inclusive Latino-based running group focused on health, movement and community. HAG Music will DJ live from the back of a Trek bicycle throughout the run. The event will include interviews with HAG Music members and local participants, along with event coverage. Runners will receive free Brewers tickets.
Thursday, July 16: Tour of Milwaukee’s Hispanic-owned businesses
HAG Music will visit several Hispanic-owned businesses around Milwaukee, including All Goods MKE and Ruby’s Bagels, among others. The group will also stop at two Paletero-inspired murals in the city.
Friday, July 17: Noche de Cerveceros
The Brewers host the Miami Marlins at American Family Field for the annual Noche de Cerveceros celebration. HAG Music will perform a pregame set at the UW Credit Union Plaza beginning at 4:45 p.m., and a member of the group will throw the ceremonial first pitch. Noche de Cerveceros festivities will run throughout the ballpark, including activations on the Terrace Level outside Section 407.
