“It’s such a shame,” she says. “I’ve got so much content, but it’s tied to movies where we can’t always get the rights.”
Elvira’s future appearances, meanwhile, will be immortalized in cartoons, comics, skateboard art, Funko collectibles, and other illustrated and artist-generated mediums.
“I see her as a superhero, like Superman or Wonder Woman; you don’t have to have a real person behind her,” Peterson says. “I hope Elvira is always around in stores, books, and games—with or without me.”
