It’s that time of the year for the UFL. Their Showcases for free agents kicked off last week, in Atlanta. Hundreds of athletes from across the country made their way to Atlanta, to try out and perform in front of UFL personnel and General Managers.
There were almost 300 players who showed up to this event. Let’s take a look at some of the most impressive numbers from Atlanta’s showcase – more specifically, the fastest players at the skills positions (RB, WR, LB, DB).
Running Backs
Keyon Mozee (4.37): Keyon Mozee is a prospect we could very well see on a UFL team this upcoming season. Mozee played his college ball with the Miami Redhawks, rushing for 2,276 yards and 12 TD’s throughout his career. He’s undersized – but could fit the mold similar to that of a Dae Dae Hunter in Arlington.
Jordan Houston (4.40): Houston had a strong college career at NC State and Marshall, earning himself a local prospect invite with the Baltimore Ravens, where he performed quite well. Houston, at 5’10”, 190 lbs, is a versatile back who rushed for nearly 2,000 yards and 8 TD’s during his collegiate stints.
Michel Dukes (4.50): Dukes has been around the block in college football. He spent three years at Clemson, two seasons with USF, and finished his career at Georgia State. Dukes made his money coming out of the backfield, with nearly as many receiving yards and rushing yards during his senior season at Georgia State.
Wide Receivers
Kevin Davis (4.37): Kevin Davis is a RB/WR hybrid, who also played with the Miami Redhawks. Throughout his collegiate career, Davis racked up 1,109 rushing yards and 809 receiving yards. He had 15 total TD’s as well. Kevin earned MVP honors at the inaugural Snoop Dogg Bowl.
Geordon Porter (4.40): Porter had a busy college career, with stops at Arizona State, University of New Mexico, and UCONN. He racked up over 1,000 receiving yards and a few scores. At 6’1”, 195 lbs., Porter’s got legitimate speed at the position. Geordon had mini-camp invites with the Jets and Giants in 2024, and recently spent time in the CFL with the Blue Bombers.
Yohance (Yogi) Flager Jr. (4.48): Yogi spent the majority of his college career with the McKendree Bearcats, setting school records with 2,285 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns across three seasons of action. He’s a speedster who has versatility at the position, playing in the slot and on the outside.
Linebackers
Chad Holleran (4.59): Chad Holleran is a small school guy, but don’t let that take away from his athleticism and playmaking abilities. Holleran racked up 369 tackles, 6.5 sacks, 36.5 TFL’s, 7 interceptions, and 10 PBU’s during his collegiate career at Georgetown College.
Hector Johnson (4.61): Hector Johnson is a rookie prospect from this past draft class, who played for the Endicott Gulls. Despite being from the D3 level, Hector was tremendous, earning well over a dozen awards throughout his career. Johnson finished his college career with 175 tackles, 24.5 sacks, and 44.5 TFL’s. Hector’s 10’10” broad jump was the highest measurable of any defensive player in Atlanta.
Micah Cretsinger (4.63): Micah is a prospect out of Saginaw Valley State, who recently had an NFL mini-camp invite with the Buccaneers. Cretsinger totaled 272 tackles, 32.5 TFL’s, 8 sacks, 7 forced fumbles, and 10 PBU’s during his career with the Cardinals. He’s a tackling machine, who’s got enough physical traits to make it into a UFL camp.
Defensive Backs
Dylan Brown (4.49): Dylan Brown was one of the most impressive performers at the UFL Showcase. He was the fastest DB in 40 time, and also led all DB’s with a 10’09” broad jump. He’s 6’1”, and has the length and athleticism that you’d look for in a young DB prospect. Brown was with the Colts in mini-camp, following a strong D3 career at the University of Wisconsin River Falls. He had 162 tackles, four interceptions, and 48 PBU’s as a four year player.
Joshua Stokes (4.53): Stokes earned Two-Time 1st Team All-Region honors during his time at Slippery Rock, and for good reason. Across four seasons, he totaled 170 tackles, six TFL’s, six interceptions, and 35 PBU’s. Joshua ran a strong 3-cone (7.12), with a strong 10’04” broad jump.
Zachariah Twardosky (4.53): Twardosky is another rookie prospect out of Endicott, the D3 program with the Gulls. Throughout his career, he racked up 233 tackles, four sacks, 12.5 TFL’s, 15 PBU’s, and seven interceptions. At 6’0”, 190 lbs., he’s got an athletic build who could play nickel/slot corner at this level.
Final Thoughts
There usually aren’t too many showcase participants signed by UFL teams, but this past event in Atlanta did feature some legitimate athletes. WR’s and RB’s running sub 4.5 40’s is an excellent sign. That speed is certainly something that could get some of these guys into UFL camps, even if they haven’t previously has pro experience.
Most of the quarterbacks, tight ends, and linemen didn’t run 40’s, hence why they weren’t included in this segment. In a league that focuses more on speed each and every year, running a fast 40 is an excellent way to get your name in the spotlight.
The next UFL Showcase is scheduled for this Sunday, September 28th, in Washington D.C.
