GALIVANTS FERRY, S.C. — A familiar restaurant location entered a new chapter Saturday as The Honor Bar & Grill celebrated its grand opening and ribbon cutting in Galivants Ferry.

A large crowd of around 70 people including community members, friends and supporters gathered for the celebration at the restaurant, located at 1676 Highway 501 West.

The Honor Bar & Grill is owned by two couples, Thomas and Dawn Swann and Charlie and Erica Johnston.

The restaurant occupies a 2,600-square-foot building and can accommodate approximately 100 guests, including seating at the full bar.

The location has a history of serving the community. Before becoming The Honor Bar & Grill, the building was home to CW’s Wings and Ribs.

As the new owners took over the business, they decided to keep the existing staff. The move allowed employees who were already familiar with the restaurant and its customers to remain part of the business while the new owners began establishing The Honor Bar & Grill.

Dawn Swann said the restaurant will keep some familiar favorites on the menu, including the chicken wrap and bacon chicken melt.

The menu features burgers, sandwiches, wings, tenders, steaks and hearty dinners, along with lighter options. Guests can also enjoy a full bar and cold drinks.

“At The Honor Bar & Grill, we’re about more than just serving food,” the owners said. “We wanted to create a place where you can walk through the door, grab a good meal, enjoy a cold drink and feel like you’re part of the community.”

The restaurant is family-friendly and aims to provide a welcoming atmosphere for local residents and visitors. The business also places an emphasis on honoring military members, veterans and first responders.

A table set in remembrance

One of the ways The Honor Bar & Grill honors those who have served is through a Missing Man Table, a small table set for one to remember service members who are missing from their ranks.
