Although there isn’t a set start date yet for this pioneering transportation project in the region, the bullet train linking “Sin City” with “The City of Angels” is already making headlines. With a top speed of 218 mph, it will connect both cities in under two hours, stopping at four stations. Beyond that, the high-speed train will also bring a major positive change for the environment.
According to Brightline, the company behind the proyect, the fully electric train could avoid the emission of roughly 400,000 tons of CO2 each year, which is roughly the same as taking three million cars off the road.

The project could also reduce the number of miles driven by vehicles by nearly 700 million each year. With fewer cars on the road, traffic congestion decreases and air quality improves. This makes the route not just faster, but cleaner for the communities along the way. In addition, the train could replace the equivalent of about 16,000 short-distance flights annually.
The project also includes three wildlife overpasses designed to help animals, especially mountain goats, cross highways and rail tracks safely. These measures show a careful approach to protecting local species while building a new transportation system.
