It’s been a tumultuous first half of the season for our cities nba team. Not only did the Pelicans part ways with head coach Willie Green but they’re yet to hit the double-digit win markThis continuing a tough chapter for the Pelicans in which the team has won only 30 of its 123 games played over the last year and a half. So have those discouraging results led to any frustration in the locker room?”They’re reading stuff, they’re frustrated too. We all want multiple wins in a row,” interim head coach James Borrego said.”We just got to, number one stick together, continue the process of growing and developing as a team. Not put our heads down because that’s when you lose focus. That’s when you start to pull apart. This group is not pulling apart. They’ve stuck together.”Closing out these last 41 games is important because the future is now for the Pelicans. You see, usually a tough season means a high draft pick the following year, but that’s not the case for the Pels. That’s because the team traded their first-round draft pick in 2026 to select Derik Queen, a move that brought a star to New Orleans but also means there is no immediate answer on the horizon via the draft.
