Every year, U.S. News & World Report ranks the best online programs, offering guidance to students looking for flexible learning options. The University of Denver offers more than 100 such programs—from business to environmental policy—that help students achieve their goals in an academically rigorous yet flexible environment. This year, DU earned “Best” status for seven of our online offerings.

Leading the way, the College of Professional Studies (PSC) earned several top rankings for its career-focused degree programs for working adults, with even higher recognition for its programs for veterans.

PSC ranked No. 32 for its bachelor’s degree in business, which includes degrees in accounting, finance, marketing, and management. It ranks No. 38 for its bachelor degree completion program, which allows students to transfer up to three years of previous college credit. Its highest rank, at No. 22, is for veterans’ programs.

The College of Professional Studies master’s in information technology, a robust program that helps students stay up to date and competitive in the areas of AI strategy, cyber security, data administration, information security, IT project management, software development, and web development, ranked No. 53—and No. 25 for veterans.

The Daniels College of Business’ Online MBA program, which combines the advantages of meaningful classroom interaction with the flexibility of learning from anywhere, ranked at No. 93. For veterans, who can enroll tuition-free through the Yellow Ribbon program, it ranked No. 56.. Students can begin coursework in September, January, March, or June. Each course meets once per week for 90 minutes.

Naomi Boyd, dean of the Daniels College of Business, says, “Personal connections really set our online MBA apart, whether it’s with faculty, classmates or the corporate partners that shape our innovative curriculum. We’re proud to balance flexible class schedules with in-person immersions, individualized support, and a tight-knit network.”

U.S. News has been publishing school rankings for online degree programs since 2013. For 2026, they evaluated undergraduate and graduate programs at nearly 2,000 colleges and universities on several general categories, including engagement; faculty credentials and training; peer assessment; services and technologies; and student excellence. For more than four decades, U.S. News & World Report’s rankings have guided millions of students and families in their college search. The 2026 edition evaluates more than 1,700 U.S. colleges and universities, using up to 17 factors to measure academic quality and graduate success.
