SEATTLE, July 7, 2025 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — The Wallflower Magazine announced today that its premier issue will be available to purchase digitally June 28, 2025. Billed as “a magazine for those in the margins, from those in the margins,” The Wallflower plans to be the most interesting indie lifestyle magazine focused on all types of queerness.

“I’m new to magazine publishing, but when I look at my options as a queer person, I see a lot of literary options, but not a lot of lifestyle magazines,” said Milo Sanders, founder, publisher, and editor-in-chief of The Wallflower. “I’m a decade into my queer journey, but I feel I have so much to learn from queer voices that aren’t necessarily getting more mainstream attention.”

The Wallflower is both self- and crowdfunded, operating with volunteer effort alongside donations and sales. Monthly issues will publish digitally with quarterly collections curating the digital pieces with the most interaction or interest. The quarterly physical copies will be available directly from the publisher as well as in select venues.

“We’re currently working on our vendor list,” Sanders said, “so we’d appreciate it if you’d call your local bookstores and ask that they carry The Wallflower Magazine.”

Sections of the magazine will focus on different aspects of queer living from big issues down to slice-of-life. Some examples are:

  • Media in the Margins: reviews spotlighting new, lesser-known indie media
  • Profiles from the Margins: an in-depth interview with a queer person you should know but probably don’t
  • Blossoms: the intersection between queerness and the environment
  • Big Talk from the Margins: discussion of politics and current events through a queer lens
  • Photos from the Margins: photo journalism and photographic art
  • Words from the Margins: fiction and creative nonfiction by queer writers

“We’re going to make the best damn queer lifestyle magazine we can, and we hope you’ll join us on the journey as both a content and monetary contributor,” Sanders said. “The Wallflower is happening, but it’s obviously easier with great submissions and generous donations.”

More information about the magazine can be found at its website, http://TheWallflowerMagazine.com/. A preview of the magazine can be found there as well.
