Kansas City-based industrial commercial real estate developer NorthPoint Development is in its final planning stages for its third industrial warehouse in the First Flight Commerce Center in Miami Twp.
“We’re looking forward to getting started on construction,” Alex Gerschutz, a project manager for NorthPoint Development, said during a recent Miami Twp. Zoning Commission meeting.
NorthPoint plans on starting construction in August with plans to finish by the end of July 2027, according to the final development plans.
The 286,480-square-foot industrial warehouse will join the Accelevation facilities at the First Flight Commerce Center and will be directly south of the second building on the site. This latest building is expected to be comparable in size and design of the other two buildings at the First Flight Commerce Center.
Accelevation manufactures infrastructure for data centers and works with some of the largest hyperscale companies in the world, including Amazon, Google, Meta, Microsoft and Oracle.
It’s unclear if this facility will be another Accelevation as Gerschutz said the company wasn’t able to announce who would be occupying that warehouse, but he said NorthPoint Development already has a full lease of the facility in place. The business that will be occupying the warehouse could create 250 jobs or up to as many as 400 jobs over three shifts, according to Gerschutz.
A presentation from Max McConnell, senior planner at Miami Twp., during the June 9 zoning commission meeting referred to Accelevation as the end user.
First Flight Commerce Center is located near the southern end of Washington Church Road along Austin Boulevard with numerous amenities nearby at Austin Landing, according to the commercial real estate services and investment company CBRE. It also offers being close to interstates 75 and 675 and is within 30 minutes of Dayton International Airport.
By its completion, the nearly 1.8 million-square-foot First Flight Commerce Center is expected to be a six-building industrial and business park expected to create more than 600 jobs for the region.
