This past July, the City of Santa Clarita broke ground on the brand-new Haskell Canyon Bike Park, which will be a world-class mountain biking area with 15 miles of trails throughout the scenic 720-acre Haskell Canyon Open Space.
Due to open in December 2025, the new project brings Santa Clarita closer to its goal of becoming a leading mountain biking destination in Southern California.
The new bike park includes a combination of cross-country, climbing, and downhill trails, as well as more technical courses including slopestyle lines, downhill jump trails, dual slalom courses, a variety of pump tracks, and a skills learning zone.
A shaded event area has picnic areas, restrooms, and bike repair stations, and visitors can enjoy easy access to the park via a convenient parking area or shuttle.

The variety of terrain at Haskell Canyon makes for an exciting place for both new and experienced cyclists to hone their skills. Whether you’re seeking a flat open area to practice or a more complex downhill course, everyone is welcome to come show their stuff.
“This park is going to be pretty sweet,” professional mountain bike racer Spencer Rathkamp told CBS News. “For the city to be willing to put that much money behind something, it means that they believe in what mountain biking can do for the community.”
Santa Clarita is one of the few cities in Southern California that’s making real strides for the local mountain biking scene. The city opened the nearby Santa Clarita Bike Park about five years ago as a pilot project, and its popularity led to the development of the more complex Haskell Canyon Bike Park.
Haskell Canyon Bike Park will open at 21450 Copper Hill Drive in Santa Clarita, which is less than an hour from L.A. without traffic. The park will operate year-round and is free to access.
