SAN ANTONIO — The record-high, summer-like temperatures may have you wanting to stay indoors over the weekend.

But if you decide to venture outside and brave the heat anyway, there will be plenty of festivities going on that the whole family can enjoy. Just be sure to stay hydrated out there.

Read on for our picks of the top weekend happenings in San Antonio for June 7-9.

Summer Night City kicks off at TPR

Join Texas Public Radio for the official kickoff of its weekly live music series, Summer Night City. Attendees can expect live music, food trucks, drinks, a vendor market and photo opportunities.

Thursday’s celebration begins with music from vinyl DJ Rambo Salinas followed by local musicians Havana Soul and Joe Posada Trio.

The free event runs every Thursday through June and July, whether rain, shine or even extreme heat. In the event of inclement weather, the event will move indoors at Texas Public Radio HQ.

See the full lineup of performers here.

When: Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. (and recurring every Thursday until the end of July)

Where: Texas Public Radio HQ (321 West Commerce)

A rich cultural experience along the Riverwalk

The 67th season of Fiesta Noche del Rio returns to the Arneson River Theatre on Friday. The annual celebration of music, dance and culture has become a cherished tradition that serves various children’s charities across San Antonio through the Alamo Kiwanis Club.

A full bar and concessions will be available for purchase. Seating at the theater is available on a first-come, first-serve basis, so attendees are encouraged to arrive early.

Starting this weekend, the event will run every Friday and Saturday night until August 3. For more information, visit the FAQ page at the event’s website here. You won’t want to miss the array of performances that showcase the rich heritage of our city.

When: Friday and Saturday at 8:30 p.m. (and recurring every Friday and Saturday until August 3)

Where: Arneson River Theatre (418 Villita Street)

Cost: Tickets can be purchased online and cost $20 for adults.

Celebrate Pride with a local art festival and market

Also happening Friday, the Pride Art Festival and Market will be held at the Artisan Distillery Craft Bar.

The event, for ages 21 and up, will have 30+ art and market vendors, drinks, music, entertainment and more. For other Pride Month events in the Alamo City, click here.

When: Friday from 8 p.m. to midnight (bar remains open until 2 a.m.)

Where: Artisan Distillery Craft Bar (402 Austin Street)

Unleash your inner artist surrounded by nature

The event will take place at Denman Estate Park on the city’s northwest side at 10 a.m. It will be a fun time for you, friends, and family to paint and socialize in the great outdoors in the company of fellow art enthusiasts.

No experience is needed and all supplies will be provided for this acrylic painting class.

When: Saturday at 10 a.m.

Where: Denmark Estate Park (7735 Mockingbird Lane)

Join Ricos for a groovy good time at a retro rollercade

Ricos Products is celebrating its third annual Ricos Retro Roll where families can enjoy a day of retro, funky fun including roller skating, food and drinks, caricatures and face painting, photo ops and more.

A portion of all ticket proceeds will go to JDRF, a global nonprofit organization that funds Type 1 diabetes research.

When: Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Where: The Rollercade (223 Recoleta Road)

Cost: Ticket prices range from $5 to $15 and can be purchased here
