The public is invited to a free event to uplift local entrepreneurs and celebrate Hispanic culture Thursday during a Cinco de Mayo Mixer at the Santa Maria Town Center.
Featuring more than 30 business and community booths, the public mixer offers opportunities to connect, collaborate, and explore resources that help businesses grow.
“This is more than just a celebration — it’s a space where our community can come together, support small businesses, and enjoy the richness of our local culture,” said Efrain Salazar, Hispanic business development representative at the Santa Maria Valley Chamber.
Complimentary food and drinks, raffle prizes, and a live musical performance by a local saxophone artist will be part of the event.

A guacamole competition will also add flavor to the evening — attendees can sample, vote, and cheer for their favorite recipes in the delicious, crowd-powered contest.
“Events like this reflect our mission to make resources accessible, create opportunity, and showcase the strength of our Hispanic business community,” Salazar said.
While the HBA focuses on empowering Hispanic businesses, everyone is welcome — from residents to aspiring entrepreneurs, partners, and supporters.
The event is sponsored by BMW of Santa Maria, Community Volkswagen, and Santa Maria Town Center.
