Tia’s Taco Hut has been slowly taking over San Antonio and surrounding areas with a rapid expansion plan that’s seen more than a handful of locations launch over the last couple of years. The newest addition is marketed as a purely to-go location, and it’s opening in an area that is also experienced fast growth.
The newest Tia’s Taco Hut has planted roots at 14024 Culebra Road, an address previously home to a Salad and Go franchise. On September 22, Tia’s posted about the location on social media to reach out to potential employees.
“We’re growing, and we’re looking for great people to grow with us at our new Culebra location!” the post said. At the time, the business was seeking out a kitchen team and cashiers to fill out its staff.
Tia’s Taco Hut followed that post up with another that same week that referred to the new location as “Tia’s To Go” and specified that it was looking to hire cooks, cashiers and shift leaders. MySA reached out to Tia’s Taco Hut via email to inquire about a possible opening date, and we will update this story when we learn more.
To date, Tia’s Taco Hut has 17 functioning locations, including one in New Braunfels. The Tia’s To Go location opening at 14024 Culebra Road will be the 18th in the chain’s fleet, and apparently, a 19th is on the way, according to a September construction filing. That one is expected to open in Schertz on Roy Richards Drive. For comparison, Taco Cabana, open since 1978, has 22 locations in San Antonio.
