The Las Vegas Raiders’ new quarterback, Fernando Mendoza, has always looked up to Tom Brady. Even his demeanor and how he handles himself remind fans of what Brady brought to the table in terms of leadership.

When he had his interview at the NFL combine, the Raiders had Brady on the phone to greet Mendoza. He now has the honor of being the team’s quarterback; his hero has become a minority owner.

Mendoza got another honor from his hero that was revealed on Saturday. Brady was at a fanatic fest in New York City, and he pulled out a special card from his pocket. It was an autographed rookie card of Fernando Mendoza. It was Mendoza’s first autograph in the NFL, and Brady put in a bid to attain it.

Hopefully, this relationship will continue to grow as Mendoza becomes the starting quarterback. Having a mentor like Brady can help any quarterback reach their full potential. For Raider Nation, the combination could help turn the franchise around.
