There’s a new No. 1 in the 2026 college football transfer portal rankings after Arizona State quarterback Sam Leavitt made his long-anticipated entrance official Friday, sparking debate for the top spot alongside North Texas‘s Drew Mestemaker and Cincinnati‘s Brendan Sorsby.
With defensive line talent commanding a premium, expect intense bidding wars for rising sophomore edge rushers Chaz Coleman and Jayden Woods. Coleman was the only Big Ten player to generate 15 or more pressures while playing fewer than 200 snaps (150) at Penn State, while Woods led Florida with 17 pressures.
These rankings will continue to shift as additional players enter the portal over the coming weeks. Still, most of the current top 10 are expected to remain at or near the front of the pack, and the entire group remains uncommitted.
