Brad Katona, the first and possibly only ever two-time winner of The Ultimate Fighter, has been released from the UFC following a two-fight losing streak in the promotion.

UFC officials confirmed the release to MMA Fighting on Tuesday. UFC roster watch broke the news.

Katona, 33, initially landed in the UFC after competing on the 27th season of the reality show where he competed at featherweight where he scored wins over Bryce Mitchell and Kyler Phillips before winning in the finale to earn his contract.

Unfortunately, Katona went 1-2 in his next three fights before he exited the UFC.

He eventually put together a four-fight win streak outside the UFC before he was invited back for The Ultimate Fighter 31, which featured several fighters who had previously competed for the promotion.

Katona once again went 2-0 and then earned a decision victory over Cody Gibson to become the first ever two-time Ultimate Fighter champion. He dropped a decision to Garrett Armfield in his next fight before earning a win over Jesse Butler to get back on track.

Unfortunately, Katona then suffered two more defeats including a 64-second knockout loss to Bekzat Almakhan at UFC 315, which marked the first time in his career that he was ever finished.

Now Katona needs a new fighting home after the UFC parted ways with him.
