The Selective Traffic Enforcement Program,” or STEP grant, helps to pay officers overtime.
The funds combat illegal activities such as D.W.I., distracted driving, and speeding, throughout the city.
STEP grant funds have been awarded to SAPD annually for over 20 years.
The funds will be accepted for approval during a September A-Session meeting.
