UCLA recorded 49.500 scores on floor exercise to start the meet and balance beam to end the meet and added a season-high 49.450 on vault.
Jordan Chiles earned three scores of 9.950 or higher and finished with the highest all-around total of the session with a 39.600. She scored a 9.975 on floor exercise, a season-high-tying 9.950 on vault and a new season-high of 9.950 on balance beam. Brooklyn Moors also had a strong showing, posting a new career-high of 9.925 on vault and earning a 10 from one of the four judges on floor and a final score of 9.950.
“I’m just really proud of the team and how they showed up,” said The R.C. Rothman UCLA Head Gymnastics Coach Janelle McDonald. “Today, we really wanted to be super-efficient with what we did, just locked in and dialed in and really be able to get through four events consistently, and they did exactly that. I couldn’t be more proud of them. I feel they’ve learned a lot this season, and they’ve really been in it together from start to finish, and that’s showing up in these really big moments for us.”
UCLA grabbed a firm hold on the lead early on, scoring 49.500 in rotation one, 0.45 ahead of second-place Minnesota. Katelyn Rosen led off with a 9.800, followed by a 9.850 from Mika Webster-Longin. A stumble on her double wolf turn dropped Emma Malabuyo’s score down to 9.750, but UCLA’s back three gave the Bruins big numbers to close. Chae Campbell scored 9.925. Moors and Chiles each saw 10s, with Moors finishing with a 9.950 and Chiles with a 9.975.

On vault in rotation two, Emily Lee led off with a 9.850 after fighting for the stick on the Yurchenko full. In the lineup for the first time this season, Paige Anastasi landed her Yurchenko 1.5 for a 9.725. Moors stuck her front pike half vault for a career-high 9.925. Webster-Longin scored 9.850 on her Yurchenko 1.5, and Campbell hit a big Yurchenko full for a 9.875. Chiles ended the rotation with a season-high-tying 9.950, as the Bruins improved upon their season-high by one-tenth, scoring 49.450.

Armed with a 0.425 lead over second-place Minnesota and 0.775 lead over third-place Southern Utah, the Bruins moved to uneven bars for rotation three. Campbell led off with a 9.800, followed by a 9.850 from Rosen on her first counting bars score since Jan. 25. Webster-Longin matched Rosen’s score with a 9.850 of her own, and Malabuyo and Frida Esparza went back-to-back with 9.900s. Chiles recovered well from a missed handstand and finished with a 9.725, and the Bruins totaled 49.300 on bars.
UCLA finished up the meet on balance beam and got things off to a great start with another 9.900 leadoff routine from Lee. Rosen was nearly perfect on the beam, with the main deduction coming on a short dismount, which dipped her score to 9.825. Chiles finished her day with a superb routine, sticking her double full dismount and earning a 10 from one of the judges and a final score of 9.950, a new season high. Campbell scored 9.850, and Ciena Alipio and Malabuyo finished with a pair of 9.900s to give UCLA another 49.500 team score.
