It appears Alex Morono won’t get the chance to finish his career in the UFC.

Following a fourth consecutive loss in the octagon, the 10-year UFC veteran was removed from the roster following his latest setback where he dropped a unanimous decision to Danill Donchenko at UFC Vegas 113 this past weekend.

Javid Basharat and Lucas Almeida were also removed from the roster. UFC officials confirmed the moves to MMA Fighting on Wednesday following an initial post about the roster changes on social media from Tom Feely.

As far as Morono goes, he acknowledged the tough run he’s endured lately in a post on social media and added “if this was my last ride, I’ll go out with my head held high [but] in a perfect world, my next fight would be my last.”

While he’s obviously free to sign elsewhere, it looks like Morono won’t get the chance for one last fight in the UFC.

Meanwhile, Basharat was removed from the roster in a surprising move after he just notched a unanimous decision win at UFC Vegas 113. Taking on a short-notice opponent in Gianni Vazquez, who also came in five pounds over the bantamweight limit, Basharat survived a few dicey moments but ultimately secured the win after dropping back-to-back fights in his previous appearances.

Overall, Basharat was 4-2 with one no-contest in his seven fights with the UFC.

Almeida was also removed from the roster after back-to-back losses in his most recent fights after falling to Michael Aswell and Danny Silva. A Contender Series veteran, Almeida still got the call to join the promotion even after he lost on the show and promptly picked up a knockout win over Michael Trizano.

But Almeida struggled from there, going just 1-4 in his next five fights including losses to Pat Sabatini and Andre Fili.

While all three fighters were removed from the roster, the UFC could potentially bring any of them back at a future date but those athletes are now free to sign with another organization as well.
