UK Wildcats News: 2024 NBA Draft Withdrawal Day

Good morning, BBN!

It’s NBA Draft Withdrawal Day, which means college underclassmen and eligible seniors who want to maintain their NCAA eligibility must withdraw from the draft pool by the end of the day.

While NBA rules allow for a later withdrawal date, the NCAA requires players to withdraw within 10 days after the combine ends.

An early entrant could technically withdraw from the draft after May 29 and still retain NBA Draft eligibility for a future year. However, doing so would forfeit their amateur status, making them ineligible to return to their NCAA team.

This option is available for college players who might consider playing overseas for a year or two before entering the NBA Draft.

As expected, Amari Williams, Lamont Butler, and Andrew Carr all officially withdrew from the NBA Draft yesterday.

This all leads to Jaxson Robinson. He’s been, what feels like, the missing piece to Mark Pope’s first team at Kentucky.

After losing out on Chaz Lanier just last week, it’s important for Pope and company to lock down Robinson in the case that he chooses to return for another year of college.

It seems like a strong possibility as long as Robinson withdraws, but it would be a big hit to morale if he’s not a Wildcat next season.

We’ll be all over it, so make sure you check back soon to see what happens!

Thinking of a lineup of

Lamont Butler – 6’2” 5th Year Senior
Jaxson Robinson – 6’7” 5th Year Senior
Koby Brea – 6’6” 5th Year Senior
Andrew Carr – 6’10” 5th Year Senior
Amari Williams – 6’10” 5th Year Senior

Experience, defense, shooting, versatility, and size everywhere
