Three former Kentucky Wildcats have new NBA homes.
Yesterday was the second round of the NBA Draft, and Antonio Reeves heard his name called about midway through the round, as Kentucky’s leading scorer was picked 47th overall by the New Orleans Pelicans.
Reeves joins a Pelicans team coming off a playoff appearance with Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram, and CJ McCollum.
The pick drew praise from Jonathan Givony, who said Reeves has an argument to be the best shooter in the class.
“They might be getting the best shooter in this draft. He made 45% of his 3’s this year. He’s A first team all-SEC player… He’s not just a shooter. He carried Kentucky for long stretches… I like this pick for New Orleans”

Reeves was the only Cat that was drafted in the second round, but two other former Cats signed deals with teams.
Justin Edwards going undrafted came as a bit of a surprise. Despite not quite living up to preseason expectations, Edwards flashed a lot of potential, and many expected him to be drafted off that.
However, Edwards quickly signed a two-way deal with the Philadelphia 76ers.
Kentucky Sports Radio’s Jack Pilgrim reported late last night that Tre Mitchell reached an agreement with the Oklahoma City Thunder on a Summer League deal.
Congrats to these former Cats on the next steps in their basketball journey!
