Record: 4-0, 1-0

Iowa State had the easiest schedule in the Big 12 before the season started, and now the Cyclones are in position to roll through October and much of November before they face a ranked conference opponent. The biggest threat to Iowa State not making the Big 12 title game might just be itself. The defense not only ranks best in the conference, but also among the top nationally, holding opponents to just 7.3 points per game and 4.18 yards per play. The toughest test comes at the end of the regular season with back-to-back games against Kansas State and Utah.

Remaining schedule: Baylor, at West Virginia, UCF, Texas Tech, at Kansas, Cincinnati, at Utah, Kansas State
