How It Happened
- Senior forward Liam Devlin (Needham, Mass.) nearly got the Wildcats on the board at 4:11 in the first period, when he snagged a pass inside the defensive zone and then skated all the way to the goalie crease, but Jacob Fowler made the save.
- At 6:39, Ryan Leonard almost gave the Eagles their first goal on a breakaway as he intercepted a pass inside the defensive zone, skated all the way to the right circle, and then shot wide glove side and DiMatteo made a big glove save on the follow up by James Hagens.

- The Wildcats scored the first goal of the game at 7:58 in the second stanza, when a backhander by Skrastins was deflected off a BC defender and into the glove side of the net. Senior forward Robert Cronin (Plymouth, Mass.) and junior forward Cy LeClerc (Brentwood, N.H.) each tallied an assist. The goal by Skrastins was his third of the season.

- At 3:41 of the third frame, Perreault got the Eagles on the board when he received a pass from Eamon Powell, handled the puck, and then scored a power-play goal from the far circle.
- Leonard nearly won the game for the Eagles at 2:44 in overtime on a breakaway when he received a pass at center ice, skated to the attacking zone, and took a shot from the slot, but DiMatteo made the save to keep the score at 1-1.
- The game then went into a shootout as UNH and BC were tied 1-1 after the second round, as LeClerc and Perreault each scored in round two.
- Both teams scored in round three with Cronin finding the back of the net for the Wildcats and then Leonard tied it up for the Eagles.
- In round five, BC ended it when Lukas Gustafsson scored the shootout winning goal.
