Exsted came in at No. 47 in the ITA preseason rankings and defeated No. 35 Petro Kuzmenok (Rice) after dropping the first set to comeback 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. Exsted then played a hard fought match to take down No. 59 Timofey Stepanov (California) 7-6(4), 6-4 to advance to the Round of 16.
With a spot in the NCAA Individual Championships on the line, Exsted faced off against The No. 7 player in the country and the tournament’s No. 3 seed in Ohio State’s Aidan Kim. Exsted played a balanced match and took a straight sets victory to punch his ticket to the NCAA Tournament.
