Utah lost another defensive back to the NCAA transfer portal on Monday afternoon.
Kenan Johnson reportedly entered the portal after spending one season with the Utes. He transferred to Salt Lake City from Georgia Tech in the 2024 offseason.
Johnson went down with a season-ending knee injury in Utah’s season-opener against Southern Utah in August. He was expected to return to the program in 2025.
The Florida native is the second cornerback to leave the Utes this offseason. Defensive back Cameron Calhoun left the program and transferred to Alabama after being offered “nearly double” an NIL package of Utah’s.
The Utes will likely rely on Smith Snowden and Elijah “Scooby” Davis as their starting defensive backs in 2025.
