LGBTQ+ Victory Institute hosted its second LGBTQ+ Public Leadership Summit of 2024 in San Antonio, TX. The program is a free half-day activation event for LGBTQ+ activists and community members who want to engage in discussions around LGBTQ+ representation and how to begin running for office.
The San Antonio Summit was a great success with over 25 participants, including LGBTQ+ elected officials from across the region, active LGBTQ+ candidates, and LGBTQ+ advocates thinking about taking the next steps to run for office. Folks drove in from all across Texas (driving from Houston and Dallas!) to be a part of this impactful program and engage with our discussion about LGBTQ+ representation in Texas. The program concluded with a reception to allow participants to network and continue building our LGBTQ+ community.
We were able to call on some local Central Texas leaders and were joined by San Antonio City Councilperson Jalen McKee-Rodriguez, Texas State Representative Josey Garcia, and Bexar County Judge Rosie Speedlin Gonzalez.
We have two more Public Leadership Summits in 2024– in San Antonio, TX (May 18, 2024) and Los Angeles, CA (September 21, 2024).
