JOPLIN, Mo. – The Augustana men’s cross country program finished fifth while the women placed seventh at the NCAA Central Region Cross Country Championships, hosted by Missouri Southern.

The men will now await their fate as a potential at-large bid while the women’s season comes to a close.

Bryant Keller was the highest-placing Viking, taking ninth place with a time of 30:50.96 en route to an All-Region honor. Joining him with All-Region honors was Kadin Groen, whose 31:13.13 earned him a 16th-place finish.

Just outside of the All-Region threshold was Payton Brown, who finished in 31:30.59 to place 26th. Isaiah Anderson placed 36th in 31:52.31, and just behind him was Peyton Willbanks, returning to the lineup and placing 37th with a time of 31:54.

On the women’s side, Allyson Sample earned All-Region honors in her first region meet, placing 25th in 21:48.19. Packing with Sample was Ramsey Karim, placing 26th in 21:51.75 and Tenley Nelson, finishing 27th in 21:54.08.

 

Kaelyn Nelson earned a 63rd-place finish when she finished in 22:33.39. Just behind her was Abby Cutler, whose 22:34.12 put her in 64th.
