DENVER, Colorado – Marist Volleyball concluded their stay out west with a matchup against the University of Denver on Saturday afternoon. The Red Foxes pushed the Pioneers to four sets but fell, 3-1 (23-25, 21-25, 25-22, 23-25). Marist moves to 1-5 on the season.
The Red Foxes dropped the first two sets, but their offensive production remained strong. Mallory Reck recorded 13 kills and 10 digs, while Caelyn Dumas dished out 24 assists over the opening two sets. In the third set, the production was spread throughout the lineup, as four Red Foxes posted three or more kills and five players tallied at least three digs to help secure the set victory.
Marist fell in the fourth set to drop the match, 3-1. In the final frame, Gabby Flamish and Reck each recorded four kills, while Dumas added six digs.
Top Performances
- Mallory Reck capped off a stellar weekend with 22 kills, 18 digs, and two blocks against the Pioneers.
- Caelyn Dumas also enjoyed a dominant weekend, finishing with 48 assists and 17 digs in the match.
- Sarah Bumstead finished with 10 kills, six digs, and five blocks for the Red Foxes.
- The Red Foxes travel to New England to face Holy Cross on Tuesday at 6 p.m. ET.
