UPDATE: 3 p.m. today

Adriana’s Kitchen Catering & Services LLC in Waipahu has reopened after the Hawaii Department of Health issued a green placard authorizing its reopening.

A follow-up inspection today found that all critical food safety violations, which prompted the business’s closure, have been corrected.

The Hawaii Department of Health shut down Adriana’s Kitchen Catering & Services LLC in Waipahu on Wednesday after an inspection found multiple critical food safety violations, including improper refrigeration and eggs left at room temperature.

The business, at 94-866 Moloalo St., received a red placard on Wednesday and must remain closed until the department conducts a follow-up inspection and all critical violations are corrected, health officials said.

During a routine inspection Wednesday, a health inspector found that the establishment’s only refrigeration unit was not maintaining proper temperatures, according to the Health Department. Two cartons of shelled eggs were also left at room temperature.

The inspector additionally found that the handwashing sink in the business’s mobile unit had no water at the start of the inspection. That issue was corrected on-site, and the water supply was restored.

Before the business can reopen, the department requires it to keep food at 41 degrees Fahrenheit or below in its refrigeration unit and store eggs at an ambient air temperature of 45 degrees or below.

The business must also ensure its handwashing sink remains operational and has an adequate supply of water, hand soap and single-use paper towels.

The department scheduled a follow-up inspection for Friday.
