TROUTMAN, N.C. – Natalie Wang paced the Navy women’s triathlon team with a 28th-place finish while helping lead the Mids to an eighth-place finish at the 20-team NCAA East Regional Qualifier held Saturday in Troutman, N.C.

Queens led from start to finish to capture the team title with 622 points and edge out second-place Arizona State by five points. The Royals were led by Beth Cook who posted the top individual time of 1:02:30 and finished nearly a minute ahead of second-place Josephine Seerig (1:03:18) from Arizona State to secure the individual win.

“The team performed well today, but there are still a few small areas we need to improve,” Navy head coach Billy Edwards said. “Natalie [Wang] and Dylan [Cashin] led the way with the kind of strength I expected. Allison [Miller] had a solid day all around and we know she still has room to grow. The team is young and despite a few misfires, this caps off a solid fall. We hope to keep it going.”

Wang clocked a time of 1:06:26 to set the pace for a balanced team effort. Cashin followed in 36th with a 1:07:29, while Miller finished 40th in 1:08:16. Madelyn Berry (54th, 1:10:41) and Keira Wilkinson (59th, 1:12:46) rounded out Navy’s scoring five.

Navy’s depth helped the team secure a top-10 finish for the third-consecutive season in a highly-competitive regional field.
