Another must-see World Cup match is coming to Dallas-Fort Worth, and it could be the most coveted ticket yet at Dallas Stadium.

It will cost more than $2,300 for an upper-deck seat to see Portugal’s all-time great, Cristiano Ronaldo, against Spain’s 18-year-old phenom Lamine Yamal on Monday afternoon, according to third-party ticketing platform StubHub. Hardly any tickets remain for less than $2,600.

The last-minute ticket prices for the cheapest seats for the Portugal-Spain round-of-16 match exceed what the cost was to see Lionel Messi during his two appearances with Argentina in Arlington during the group-stage round.

And for good reason – Monday’s matchup has star power galore and will provide fans in D-FW a window into a fierce rivalry between neighboring nations.

The 41-year-old Ronaldo on Thursday scored the first knockout-round goal of his career in Portugal’s 2-1 victory over Croatia. And Spain earned a resounding 3-0 victory over Austria to set up the highly anticipated matchup Monday.

Fans who won the FIFA ticketing lottery months ago had the chance to purchase tickets at a fixed price. Now, with the attractive matchup set for Monday, fans are encountering a much different ticketing market. Asking prices on the secondary market have skyrocketed.

Monday’s Spain-Portugal match will be the eighth World Cup match at Dallas Stadium. The final match in Arlington will be a semifinal on July 14, where the cheapest tickets are hovering around $4,000 even though the teams are yet to be determined.

Dallas Stadium is hosting more matches (nine) than any city in the first men’s World Cup in North America in 32 years.
