NBA superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is the golden goose of the 2026 NBA offseason. While rumors regarding a trade continue to swirl, the talk has intensified as the June 23-24 draft approaches.
The Milwaukee Bucks have narrowed their trade options between the Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on June 22.
Wherever Antetokounmpo lands could prove consequential to a potential Ja Morant trade and the Memphis Grizzlies’ future.
What it means for the Grizzlies
As one star moves, the process of getting trades to the finish line accelerates. The Grizzlies have an intriguing star at the forefront of those conversations. When Antetokounmpo is traded, a Morant trade is likely to follow suit.
For one, wherever Antetokounmpo lands would effectively eliminate that team from considering trading for the Grizzlies’ star.
The Heat already have been rumored to be interested in Morant. If they are left out of the Antetokounmpo sweepstakes, they are likely to turn their eyes to Morant.
While Morant is not likely to garner much trade value based on contract length, recent injury history and off-court concerns, there could be some opportunity for the bidding price to be driven up.
