Colorado football and coach Deion Sanders signed an important recruiting class in 2025, which ranks near the top of the Big 12 after National Signing Day.
The Buffaloes only signed 14 players in 2025, but most of which are blue-chip prospects with the opportunity to play early in their careers. Sanders and Colorado were able to capitalize on their strong season in 2024, as they finished with a 9-4 record and narrowly missed on a Big 12 championship game appearance.
Included in Colorado’s 2025 class is four-star quarterback Julian “JuJu” Lewis, who’s set to be the Buffaloes’ quarterback of the future after reclassifying from the 2026 class. Lewis was previously committed to USC, but flipped to Colorado before the start of the early signing period.

Where does Colorado football’s recruiting class rank in 2025?
Colorado’s freshmen class in 2025 ranks 37th nationally, although the class includes numerous blue-chip prospects.
The Buffaloes only signed 14 players, likely due to their need for a large transfer portal class after losing multiple starters from last season’s roster. The transfer portal class ranks 19th nationally, raising Colorado’s overall 2025 influx of players ranking 23rd overall.
Lewis, the nation’s No. 48 player and No. 6 quarterback, is the highest-rated signee for Colorado in 2025, with Alabama defensive line transfer Jeheim Oates, a four-star prospect, the highest-rated transfer portal signee.
Colorado also added former Liberty quarterback Kaidon Salter, who’s likely to start next season as the successor to Shedeur Sanders. Salter will have to beat out Lewis, of course, who will look to push for the job.
