UFC CEO Dana White sees a bright future ahead for Power Slap.

White, who founded Power Slap in 2022, said he believes the slap-fighting promotion will eventually surpass the UFC in popularity and become the biggest sport in the world, according to MMA Junkie.

“Some of you were there and heard me in the early days, I said this will be the biggest sport in the world,” White said following Power Slap 8 in Las Vegas on Friday. “This will be bigger than the UFC.”

Friday’s Power Slap event featured the debut of former UFC fighter Paige VanZant, who defeated Christine Wolmarans via unanimous decision.

“Nobody leaves a UFC live event and goes, ‘Yeah I don’t ever wanna see one of these again.’ That’s the same thing with the Power Slap, it continues to grow,” White said. “This was our eighth event. We’ve only done eight events, and look at the success of this thing in just eight shows.

“And now, we will get better every time we do it. The athletes will get better. There will be people that come that continue to draw and people wanna see slap. It’s all just a huge work in progress, it will just get better every time we do it.”
