We are heading into our fourth NFL weekend, and the injuries are beginning to pile up, making life difficult for fantasy football owners. These are all the key injuries that you need to know before setting your roster this week. This is the Week 4 injury report.
QB Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders
Daniels has been ruled out for Week 4 with a knee injury. This is the second straight game he will miss. Marcus Mariota will get another start in his absence. All the Washington pass-catchers should be downgraded for the game.
QB Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers
Purdy practiced in full on Friday and is expected to return this week. This doesn’t change much for the rest of the 49ers’ weapons. He may be a slight upgrade for the pass-catchers from Mac Jones.
QB Justin Fields, New York Jets
Fields returned to a full practice on Friday and is expected to be ready to go for Monday Night Football. Head coach Aaron Glenn said that he will get his starting job back once he cleared concussion protocol. He’s not necessarily an upgrade for the wide receivers compared to Tyrod Taylor.
QB JJ McCarthy, Minnesota Vikings
McCarthy will miss his second-straight game this week, leaving Carson Wentz to start another game. Wentz could be an upgrade for the pass-catchers.
QB Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
After throwing the ball without any issues on Friday, Mayfield is expected to go on Sunday, which is great news for the entire offense.
RB D’Andre Swift, Chicago Bears
Swift is questionable this week, but after getting in three straight limited practices this week, the same as he did last week, he is expected to play.
RB Jaylen Warren, Pittsburgh Steelers
Warren was added to the injury report on Friday with a knee injury, which always raises eyebrows. This could be something, or it could be nothing. If it were to cost him any time, Kenneth Gainwell would likely become the primary running back, and we might finally get to get a look at rookie Kaleb Johnson.
RB Chuba Hubbard, Carolina Panthers
Hubbard was a late-week addition to the injury report on Thursday with a calf injury. Both being a later-week addition and the fact that it’s a calf injury are concerning, but getting in a limited practice on Friday was promising. He looks to be on the right side of questionable.
WR Mike Evans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Evans is going to miss multiple weeks after suffering a hamstring injury in Week 3. This leaves rookie Emeka Egbuka with a huge opportunity as the WR1.
WR Terry McLaurin, Washington Commanders
McLaurin has been ruled out for Week 4 with what is being called a quad injury. It sounds like this could be a multi-week injury. Deebo Samuel and Luke McCaffrey should see more targets in his absence.
WR Davante Adams, Los Angeles Rams
Adams’ hamstring injury is not expected to hold him out this week, but it could limit him or leave him susceptible to re-injury, assuming he’s good to go on Sunday.
WR Xavier Worthy, Kansas City Chiefs
Worthy is expected to return to action for the first time since injuring his shoulder in Week 1. However, he is expected to be wearing a harness and could be limited. He’s a very risky fantasy option in his first week back.
WR Tetairoa McMillan, Carolina Panthers
The rookie is dealing with a calf injury, but got in two limited practices to close out the week. While we do expect him to play, this is a situation to monitor when inactives come out on Sunday.
WR Chris Godwin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
After practicing in full this week, Godwin looks on track to make his season debut. While we do expect him to be limited, the absence of Evans could lead to him getting more work than otherwise expected.
WR Jauan Jennings, San Francisco 49ers
Jennings is once again questionable for Week 4 and is looking like a game-time decision. His absence would leave Ricky Pearsall as the clear WR1 and could open up some extra targets for Kendrick Bourne.
WR Alec Pierce, Indianapolis Colts
Pierce will not play this week after failing to clear the concussion protocol. This should lead to more targets for all the pass-catchers, most notably Michael Pittman Jr.
TE Evan Engram, Denver Broncos
Engram is set to return from his back injury in Week 4.
TE Ja’Tavion Sanders, Carolina Panthers
Sanders is expected to miss this week and likely additional weeks with a high-ankle sprain. His Week 3 injury was a tough break after a strong Week 2. Tommy Tremble is likely the next man up.
TE Darren Waller, Miami Dolphins
While it’s not guaranteed, it appears that the expectation is that Waller will make his Miami Dolphins debut this week. He should be considered little more than a DFS dart throw, and that’s only because of what we saw out of Jonnu Smith last year.
TE Isaiah Likely, Baltimore Ravens
Likely looks like he’s recovered from his foot injury and is set to make his season debut this weekend. This could have an impact on Mark Andrews as well as the wide receivers in Baltimore, depending on how the team decides to utilize him.
TE Will Dissly, Los Angeles Chargers
Dissly has been ruled out again for Week 4, making rookie Oronde Gadsden II an intriguing deep sleeper.
TE Jonnu Smith, Pittsburgh Steelers
Smith is listed as questionable for Week 4 with a hip issue. If he does miss the game, Pat Freiermuth could become relevant with a larger workload.
TE Noah Fant, Cincinnati Bengals
Because the Bengals play on Monday Night Football this week, he hasn’t officially been ruled out yet, but as of Friday, he hasn’t cleared the concussion protocol. We don’t really want anything to do with this offense, but with a terrible offensive line, Jake Browning could look to dump a few extra passes off to Mike Gesicki with Fant sidelined.
