Transgender athlete debate draws dueling protests outside Fever-Liberty game

The Indiana Fever will play the Chicago Sky without one of its Big Three on Sunday, Aug. 23, at Wintrust Arena.
Center Aliyah Boston is out for the game because of a right lower leg injury, the team announced on its X account on Sunday afternoon.
Boston logged 30 minutes and scored 22 points with three rebounds and six assists in a 109-102 loss to the New York Liberty on Saturday, Aug. 22. She has missed three previous game with the same injury this season and was questionable Saturday but played.
Boston is having a career year, averaging 17.0 points, 8.4 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. She signed four-year, $6.3 million contract extension with the Fever this past April.
After finishing a five-game road trip against the Sky, the Indiana Fever’s next game is on Friday, Aug. 28 against the Connecticut Sun at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
