UNCASVILLE, Conn. – Boston College women’s basketball fell to UConn, 84-67, on Monday afternoon in the Hall of Fame Exhibition game at Mohegan Sun Arena.

The Eagles will begin the season on Nov. 3 against Holy Cross inside Conte Forum.

Teionni McDaniel led all scorers with an efficient 23 points, shooting 7-of-10 from the field, hitting a trio of 3-pointers, and going 6-of-6 at the line. The newcomer for BC increased her scoring output each quarter, tallying 21 of her points in the final three periods.

Amirah Anderson registered 10 points and tied a team-high with six rebounds, while Athena Tomlinson dished out four assists with five points and two steals. Ava McGee registered eight points with six rebounds as well.

Kayla Rolph got the Eagles off to a solid start, hitting her first two shot attempts to give BC a 6-2 lead early in the contest. The reigning national champions responded with an 11-0 run to take a 13-7 advantage. The deficit was cut to one possession when Tomlinson capped off a 9-3 surge, while Jocelyne Grier highlighted the spurt with five points. UConn made six of its final eight shots to go into the second with a 26-16 lead.

The Huskies stayed in front by double digits despite BC pulling to within less than 10 on multiple occasions in the second quarter. A trifecta by McDaniel shortened the gap to nine before UConn closed the half with a pair of baskets to head into the break with a 43-30 lead.

UConn’s best shooting quarter came in the third, where it shot over 70 percent from the field and six of its 10 field goals from beyond the arc, pulling away from the Eagles going into the fourth. Boston College outscored its foe in the fourth quarter, shooting 46 percent from the field, and Emma LoPinto came in off the bench to hit a 3-pointer as well.
