7 injured in fiery downtown LA crash

A suspected DUI driver was taken into custody early Sunday morning after a fiery crash left seven people injured in downtown Los Angeles, police said.

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES (KABC) — A suspected DUI driver was taken into custody early Sunday morning after a fiery crash left seven people injured in downtown Los Angeles, police said.

It happened just before 3 a.m. along S. Grand Avenue.

Details are limited, but the Los Angeles Police Department told Eyewitness News that two vehicles crashed and then hit several people walking on the sidewalk.

Seven people were taken to the hospital. Two women in their 20s were listed in critical condition, and a 49-year-old man was listed in serious condition, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Three other women are in fair condition, and the seventh person’s condition remains unknown.

Police said one driver was taken into custody for possible DUI, though further details weren’t immediately released.
