In this episode of “Tiempo,” we’ll begin with the NYC Kids RISE Save for College Program.

This program provides public school students, regardless of income or immigration status, with a scholarship account already loaded with money that is set aside for college and career training.

We’ll also talk about a financial head start, and we’ll continue our focus on education by discussing the Hispanic Education Summit that will take place in New York City later this month.

This event brings together educators, community leaders and families to discuss the best practices and the pressing needs to reform and strengthen New York City Public Schools.

The summit will also examine paying for college, how to boost graduation rates and an update on Latino studies curriculum.

We’ll also welcome guests who organized the event: Perla Rodriguez and Jessica Guzman-Mejia from the Hispanic Federation.
