Motorists along one of Central Texas’ busiest corridors have a new place to stop for gas — if they’re a member, that is.
The gas station at the upcoming $37 million Costco in New Braunfels is now open, giving drivers early access more than a week before the retailer’s highly anticipated warehouse debut. Positioned just off Interstate 35. The fueling station, which Costco says opened May 7, is already drawing steady traffic from commuters and locals.
The site features multiple fuel lanes and diesel options, offering a high-capacity setup designed to move vehicles quickly. Its location near a major highway corridor also makes it a convenient stop for travelers passing through the area. As with all Costco locations, a membership is required to purchase gas or shop inside.
The fuel station is just one piece of a much larger retail project set to open days later. The roughly 158,000-square-foot warehouse is expected to open its doors at 8 a.m. on Friday, May 15, and will stock about 4,000 products, ranging from groceries and fresh meat to produce, electronics, home goods and apparel.
The store will also include services like a pharmacy, optical department, tire center and hearing aid services, along with a bakery, rotisserie offerings, beer and wine and the retailer’s signature food court. The location is also expected to bring about 240 jobs to the area, adding to the growing workforce in New Braunfels.
