Arman Tsarukyan calls out Colby Covington after quick Tech Fall win over Mugzy in RAF09 opener

Arman Tsarukyan’s exciting two-week run kicked off tonight with a first round Tech Fall win over Mugzy in Arlington, Texas.

The top UFC lightweight contender has been named as the official backup fighter for the UFC White House by Dana White. However, there is a clash of schedules as the Armenian is due to face Tony Ferguson at RAF10 the night before.

Sporting a cowboy hat and a new nickname of ‘Batman’, Arman Tsarukyan made the walk early in the night for a strange outing given his star power. And he was given a bit of a fright as Mugzy managed to get him down in an exciting opening minute to get the score to 6-5.

However, within the opening two minutes Tsarukyan made it to the legs and scored a Tech Fall victory, with a final score of 16-5 for the Armenian. After the fact, he spoke with Chael Sonnen, where he made his call for one of the later stars of the night; Colby Covington.
