Vermont Green FC will host Boston Bolts on Tuesday night at Virtue Field. It’s been just over two weeks since the two sides last met, and the Green will be hungry to finish the home-and-home series with another three points to keep pace with NEFC atop the table.
Kickoff is set for 6pm and a capacity crowd is expected to welcome the Champions home.
HISTORY
Vermont Green and Boston Bolts have played seven prior matches, with Vermont enjoying a 5W-2D-0L record in the all-time series. The sides did not meet in 2024, as the only scheduled match was cancelled due to lightning.
Tuesday’s match will be the return fixture of the Green’s second match of the season on May 19, when the Vermonters came away with a 4-1 victory in Waltham in 95 degree heat. Francou, Pop, Miller, and Kpardeh were the goalscorers.
Despite Vermont’s unbeaten record against Bolts all-time, the Boston side has always been a tricky matchup. They delivered one of the more disappointing moments of the Green’s 2025 unbeaten season, scoring a late equalizer at a sold-out Virtue Field after a Stephane Njike red card reduced the Green to ten men.
BOLTS IN FOCUS
Boston Bolts were founded in 1986 and are one of the oldest soccer clubs in Massachusetts. They have become a regular producer of talent in the Northeast and have competed towards the top of the table for most of their time in USL2.
Boston Bolts have most notably developed centerback Miles Robinson, who was recently announced as a part of the U.S. Men’s National Team’s 2026 FIFA World Cup roster.
In 2026, the Bolts are off to a 1W-1D-2L start to the season, good for seventh in the league table. Despite having just one win, the Bolts are not to be overlooked. The two losses have come against Vermont Green and NEFC, two teams that remain perfect. NEFC were only able to best the Bolts by a 2-1 margin. The Bostonians also battled the sturdy Black Rock FC to a 1-1 draw.
The Green can expect no gifts from the visitors on Tuesday night, and should be prepared for a club that has been fearless at Virtue in the past.
SAMSON KPARDEH & FAMILIAR FOES
In the early days of the season, Head Coach Chris Taylor has called upon Boston Bolts youth product Samson Kpardeh to impact matches. The Worcester, MA native—wearing number 31—has been electric thus far for the Green, putting opposition defenders in distress with his pacey and precise one-on-one prowess.
Kpardeh (pronounced PAR-deh) scored the fourth and final goal in Waltham last month to put a bow on the Green’s 4-1 victory over his former youth club. The winger will be keen to add to his tally, should Chris Taylor call his name on Tuesday.
ON THE CONCOURSE
Miso Toh Kome, Folinos Pizza, Ahli Baba’s, and The Skinny Pancake will be serving on the concourse. As always, Ben & Jerry’s will be giving out free ice cream. Fans are encouraged to arrive early.
