Reading, Pa. (July 3, 2026) – Alvernia University’s Elizabeth Adebola, Macenzie Hunter and Chance Babb all earned Academic All-MAC honors for their performances on the mat and in the classroom during the 2025-2026 season as announced by the Middle Atlantic Conference on Friday.
The MAC sports information directors nominate and vote for the Academic All-MAC teams, giving 50 percent weight on both academic success and athletic success. A student-athlete must have a fall semester grade-point average (GPA) of 3.20 or higher to be eligible for the award.
Adebola and Hunter, both sophomores, join eight other MAC women’s wrestlers on the Academic All-MAC teams. Adebola is a Psychology and Physical Therapy major and Hunter is majoring in Social Work.
This is also the first year of a Women’s Wrestling Academic All-MAC team as it is the first year the MAC had a women’s wrestling championship.
Adebola posted an impressive 20-8 record in her first season competing for the Golden Wolves and recorded a third place finish at the inaugural MAC Women’s Wrestling Championships. Adebola recorded 12 wins by fall, four decisions and two VSU victories.
Hunter tallied the second most wins for the Golden Wolves in her sophomore campaign and posted a 17-8 overall record. Hunter also recorded a second place finish at the inaugural MAC Women’s Wrestling Championships and tallied an impressive 14 of her 17 wins by fall in the 2025-2026 season.
Babb, a senior Marketing major, joined nine other MAC Men’s Wrestlers on the Academic All-MAC team. This is Babb’s second Academic All-MAC nod after receiving the honor last season.
Babb capped off his impressive career as a Golden Wolf with a 27-9 overall record in his senior campaign and posted a second place finish in the NCAA Region III regional to punch his ticket to the NCAA DIII National Championships for the third time in his career. Babb posted seven tech falls, six decisions, five pins, five major decisions and two sudden victories. Babb also recorded a sixth place finish at the MAC Championships after an injury, a third place finish at Messiah’s Petrofes Invitational, a second place finish at Ursinus’s Racich Rumble and a first place finish at the Shenandoah Invitational.
