APPLETON (WLUK) — The 44-year wait for the Milwaukee Brewers to return to the Fall Classic has certainly been reflected in ticket prices, but a Fox Valley business owner is providing hope you still may be able to go.

When it comes to baseball fans, Alyssa Jones knows as well as any what the Milwaukee Brewers are capable of.

“I go to at least one, two, three games a week even though I live in Appleton,” said Jones, who owns Alyssa & Anna’s Fine Jewelry in Appleton and Oshkosh.

Through a season seat member presale, Jones was able to purchase tickets to the first World Series game in American Family Field history.

“I was just seeing a lot of people online post that they weren’t able to get tickets,” said Jones.

Jones is providing those fans a second chance. She’s running a contest for two free Game 1 tickets through her business of 11 years.

To enter, you must follow the Alyssa & Anna Fine Jewelry Facebook page, and like and share its post about the contest. You can get a bonus entry by leaving a comment on why you should win the tickets.

“I didn’t know it was going to blow up this much,” said Jones. “It’s been super positive. Everyone has been super friendly.”

Jones says the exposure for her jewelry has been great, but the reason for the contest comes as a curveball. She likes the Brewers, but she’s actually a lifelong Atlanta Braves fan. She went to two of their World Series games in 2021 and wants Brewers fans to experience the same joy she did.

“It was like the best experience of my life so I just thought if I had two extra tickets I would give them to somebody who is a big Brewer fan,” said Jones.

Jones says she’s still deciding how a winner will be selected. Right now, she’s leaning toward using a computer program to pick someone randomly, but she’s also considering selecting someone who has left a heartfelt story on why they should be selected.

“People who want to bring their kids who are big fans or people who met at the stadium, now they’re married,” said Jones. “A lot of cool stories that I’ve been reading.”

The coolest story of all will come Wednesday night when Jones is able to tell someone they’re headed to the World Series.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the contest post on Facebook has been shared more than 17,000 times.

Jones didn’t have an exact location, but says the seats she’s giving away are on the second level of the stadium. As of Tuesday afternoon, all tickets listed for sale on Seat Geek for that level were above $3,000 each.

The contest winner will also receive a sterling silver and blue sapphire baseball glove necklace and a custom rhinestone Brewers crewneck.
