  • One grand prize winner will receive a $10,000 business grant and two tickets to Game One of the 2026 MLBWorld Series® presented by Capital One.
  • Three additional finalists will each receive two tickets to a 2026 MLB Postseason game.

COLUMBUS, OHIO, Sept. 10, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Engelbert STRAUSS, Inc., the Official Workwear Partner of Major and Minor League Baseball, is proud to support small businesses in building their own championship story. The workwear company today announced the launch of the STRAUSS Trades Business Booster, a nationwide contest that will award one deserving small trades business a $10,000 business grant and two tickets to Game One of the  MLB World Series® presented by Capital One. Three additional finalists will each receive two tickets to a 2026 MLB Postseason game.

The contest invites owners of U.S.-based small businesses in construction, manufacturing, skilled trades, logistics, field services and other hands-on industries to share the stories behind their businesses and how the grant will help them further build their own legacy. Eligible applicants must be based in one of the 50 states, employ fewer than 100 individuals, and have annual gross receipts of less than $15 million over the previous three years. To enter, business owners must submit their application through the campaign website by September 25, 2026.

“Every day, millions of Americans step onto jobsites and into workshops long before the first pitch,” said Henning Strauss, CEO and Owner of STRAUSS. “Small trades businesses, many of them family-owned and sustained across generations, are built with vision, grit and the faith to keep showing up. As a family business, we wanted to create a program that offers recognition and practical support for the people building something lasting.”

Celebrating the Backbone of American Business

For STRAUSS, the Trades Business Booster reflects the brand’s commitment to the people who build, repair and create. The contest is designed to celebrate the determination, craftsmanship and ambition found on jobsites and in workshops across the country, including the many family-owned and multigenerational businesses that help keep those traditions alive.

Small businesses account for nearly half of private-sector employment in the United States, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration. Through the Trades Business Booster, STRAUSS aims to recognize the resilience and vision behind small trades businesses while providing meaningful support to help them grow their operations.

Contest Details

To be eligible, entrants must meet the following requirements:

  • be the owner of the business
  • be 18 years of age or older
  • operate a business, for-profit or non-profit, physically located in one of the 50 states
  • have 100 or fewer employees
  • have average annual gross receipts of $15,000,000 or less over the previous three years
  • work in the skilled trades, construction, manufacturing, logistics, field services, warehousing or as skilled labor

Only one entry per business is allowed. Deadline for submissions is September 25, 2026.

Eligible trades businesses can enter the contest by submitting their story through the campaign website. Winners will be selected based on the impact of their business, their commitment to quality craftsmanship, and their contributions to their employees, customers and communities.
